Sexy cleavage

Before you launch a lobby and cry blue murder, pause to think. Maybe your assets don’t get highlighted as you wear ill-fitting lingerie and clothes, or the style is all wrong. Your assets are just that therefore, here is the lowdown on what you should be doing:

Problem: The neckline of your top is an inverted ‘U’ and the wide straps press down on your breasts to make them appear uneven.
Solution: Wear a dress or top which has an underwired bra to boost your boobs.

How Long is Your Expectation Yard Stick?

December 5th, 2009

Many people, who come to me say, they are disappointed or frustrated, because they have not accomplished as much as they have aspired to achieve. “Believe me, I am hard on myself to achieve my goals, but for some reason I am stuck or fall short,” he/she laments. Ironically, being hard on oneself creates an unconscious resistance toward one’s desired outcome. No one responds well to a tyrant. You are being a tyrant when you are ‘hard’ on yourself.

People often have expectations of themselves that they can not live up to. Where did these expectations come from? How long is their yard stick? A yard is thirty-six inches. However, many people have a yard stick two or three times longer.

Lisa and Scott Hunter moved their three-year-old boutique Vian Hunter to Seattle after their former location in Palo Alto “became a ghost town due the recession,” Lisa explains. “We needed a change and Seattle seemed like an exciting place to be.”

Postcard from Pakistan – Bombs to Bracelets

November 17th, 2009

October has been a horrifically violent month in Pakistan. The militants have targeted the rich and the powerful establishment, and the vulnerable poor. They have targeted women and children indiscriminately. They have attacked schools and universities. They have attempted to cut through the social fabric that binds Pakistanis in the hope that fear will consume the population and paralyse it.

The pros and cons of maxi dresses

July 14th, 2009

Maxi dresses are pretty and stylish, and especially popular this season. They can be seen on the streets in an array of colors and styles, and usually reaching the ankle. You might already own one or a few, but if you’re trying to decide whether or not to get one (and now is a great time with all these sales going on), read below:

Pros
- They are popular. Admit it, you’ve definitely seen them on fashion shows, in numerous store windows, and on women everywhere. More and more stores and designers are designing them.
- They are perfect for this year’s summer weather, which so far has not greeted us with extremely hot and humid temperatures. In this dress, you won’t be cold, and you won’t be overdressed when the sun comes out since they usually come strapless or on thin straps.
- Maxi dresses work in any environment, well, almost. Wear one to work with a blazer and nice flats or sandals, or cover up your bikini when heading to the beach. Tie a contrasting scarf around your neck when out in the city, and add a cardigan for the cooler nights.
- It’s sexy. The long length elongates the figure, while the extra coverage hides more than you want to show. And bonus: you don’t have to worry about having perfect, smooth legs while wearing this dress.
